IMPROVING TEAM PERFORMANCE
Energizing The Spirit Of The Team

For success in 2013 we must channel fresh energy to lift the spirits of our team members so they feel motivated and driven to achieve the targets and goals set-out in our Action Plan.

Let the team members give in-put so the Action Plan prepared towards the end of last year can be fine tuned to include any new suggestions and realities that may have emerged since the planning stage.

With this fresh perspective our Action Plan should be ready for implementation.

Invite all team members to a launch event that pumps up the energy so they start implementing the plan with enthusiasm.

We should set dates for achieving "mile stone" targets along the way to reaching the main goals for the year. At these dates schedule meetings to allow feed back and review of targets achieved and targets missed.

It is critical that all team members be allowed to give their in-put and understand the reasons for success or lack of success at each "mile stone" target date.

The Action Plan should be adjusted and figures re-worked based on the review so the organization remains on track to achieving the goals for the year.

It is important that team members feel a sense of ownership of the Action Plan, the review process and decision making process.

Create a sense of ownership at these meetings. This will transform the individual members into a team. The result is a synergy which allows more to be achieve within a set time frame leading to improved performance and increased competitiveness.

Performance and competitiveness are the key words for success in 2013.

Reward success to maintain a positive team spirit throughout the year.

Wishing your success in 2013!
